Clear One Component CPU Adhesive , Solvent Based Bonding Agent for CPU

Thinkbond 42 is a clear one-component solvent-based bonding agent specifically formulated for castable polyurethane elastomers and thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (PUs and TPUs). This heavy metals-free product offers superior bonding performance with excellent environmental resistance.

• One-coat bonding system for PUs and TPUs to all metals during curing
• Bonds polyurethane elastomers to polyamides and engineering thermoplastics (Hytrel®, polyester, PES, PPS, PPO) at 80ºC or above
• Excellent resistance to hot and cold water, and various fluids

Resins and catalysts stabilized in ketone solvents.

• Thoroughly remove oil, grease, and dirt from metal surface
• Grit blast surface with steel to achieve roughness >15 µm
• For aluminum surfaces, use aluminum oxide as abrasive
• Clean substrate again to remove blasting residue dust
• Optional pre-treatments: phosphatizing, galvanizing, chromate conversion, or KTL

Stir Thinkbond 42 before application to prevent settling.

Apply undiluted for small areas. For large areas, dilute with MEK to improve flow and application speed.

Use HVLP gun with 1.5 Bar air-pressure and 1-1.5mm nozzle. Dilute 50-100% v/v.

Dilute to 35-45 seconds on DIN 4 or Ford 4 cup at 25°C. High boiling solvent like MPA may be needed to reduce skinning.

Dry film for 10-30 minutes at room temperature. For faster drying, use forced air for 5 minutes at ≤100°C.

Maintain 15-25 µm thickness. For severe environments or dynamic fatigue applications, use ≥25 µm for optimal performance.

Keep container tightly closed and away from heat sources. Storage below 10°C extends shelf life.
