Liquid Rubber To Metal Adhesive , Thermoreactive Adhesive For Silicone Rubber To Metal

THINKBOND 94S is an environmentally friendly thermoreactive adhesive for bonding silicone elastomers (VMQ), PU with steel, aluminum, aramid, textile fibers and glass through vulcanization process. This heavy metals free product is also effective for chemically treated surfaces that cannot be grit blasted.

• Appearance: Clear to light yellow liquid
• Non-volatile solids (2h @ 70°C): 12-18%
• Density at 25°C: 0.84-0.88 g/cm³
• Viscosity Brookfield at 25°C: 10 cps - #2 spindle @ 30 rpm
• Bonding Temperature Range: 150 to 200ºC
• Shelf life: 2 years (closed can below 25ºC)

Properly prepare metal surfaces by completely removing oil, grease and dirt. For optimal results:

• Blast surfaces with steel grit to achieve roughness >15 µm
• For aluminum surfaces, use aluminum oxide as abrasive
• Clean substrate to remove blasting residue
• Effective on chemically treated surfaces (galvanized, phosphated, KTL)

Stir THINKBOND 94S before application to avoid sedimentation.

Dilute with Methanol or Ethanol 99º GL according to application method. Use all diluted product the same day to avoid hydrolysis reaction.

• Dipping: Dilute 100-500% v/v
• Brushing: Dilute 100-500% v/v
• Spray: Dilute 100-500% v/v

• Dry film between 10-30 minutes at room temperature
• For faster drying: Use forced air for 2 minutes at ≤65ºC
• Do not exceed 82ºC to avoid adhesive pre-cure
