Lead-free Adhesive For The Bonding of Rubber Compounds to Metals Thinkbond 927MS

Thinkbond 927MS is a lead-free bonding agent designed for bonding rubber compounds to metals and other solid materials under vulcanization conditions. This product is particularly effective for adhesion of difficult-to-bond compounds and those with low hardness. It can be used as a one-coat bonding agent or as a cover cement over primers like Thinkbond 11H.

• Non-volatile solids (1h @ 105°C): 22.0-25.0%
• Density at 25°C: 0.96-1.02 g/cm³
• Viscosity Brookfield at 25°C: 200-500
• Diluents: Xylene or toluene
• Bonding Temperature Range: 150 to 220ºC
• Shelf life: 1 year (closed can below 25ºC)

Properly prepare metal surfaces by completely removing oil, grease, and dirt. Grit blast the surface with steel to achieve roughness greater than 15 µm. For aluminum surfaces, we recommend using aluminum oxide as abrasive. Clean the substrate again to remove blasting residue dust.

Thinkbond 927MS can be applied on surfaces treated by chemical processes including galvanizing, phosphating, and KTL.

Brushing:
Dilution ratio: Use undiluted
Drying time: Approximately 30 minutes at 20ºC
Stirring: Stir before and during use

Spraying with air:
Diluent: Xylene or toluene
Dilution ratio: 1 part bonding agent + 0.3-0.6 parts diluent
Viscosity: 30-90mPa.s(cp) (Brookfield LVT)
Drying time: Approximately 15 minutes at 20ºC
Spray gun: Walther, Pilot III
Nozzle: 1.0 mm
Air pressure: 3-4 bar
Stirring: Stir before and during use

Keep container tightly closed during storage and always keep away from heat sources. Storing in an environment below 10ºC increases the adhesive's shelf life.
