One Component Bisphenol System Fluorogel Skeleton Oil Seal Adhesive

ThinkBond 8 is a high-performance, one component adhesive for thermal vulcanization bonding between various rubber and metal and other hard substrates. Suitable for various rubber to metal, rubber to fiber cords, and fabrics including cellulose, polyamide, polyester and glass.

Dilute the liquid 4 times with solvent, then dip the skeleton into the diluted adhesive.

We recommend stirring Thinkbond 8 before application to avoid settling.

Normally applied without further dilution. For large areas, dilution with MEK improves flow and application speed.

Recommended HVLP gun with 1.5 Bar air-pressure and 1-1.5mm nozzle size. Dilute between 50-100% v/v.

Dilute to 35-45 seconds on a DIN 4 or Ford 4 cup at 25°C. High boiling solvent like MPA may be needed for best finish.

Dry film for 10-30 minutes at room temperature. For faster drying, use forced air for 5 minutes at ≤100°C. Avoid temperatures above 100°C to prevent pre-cure.

The colorless film thickness should be 15-25 µm. For severe environments or dynamic fatigue applications, use ≥25 microns for bonds that withstand 400 hour salt-spray tests. Parts can be stored for 30 days after application before curing.

Keep container tightly closed and away from heat sources. Storage below 10°C extends shelf life.
