Clear One Component Solvent Based Bonding Agent For CPU/MPU/TPU

Thinkbond 940T is a clear one-component solvent-based bonding agent for CPU, MPU and TPU to hard substrates including:

• Metal substrates (steel, iron, aluminum, etc.)
• Non-metal substrates (epoxy resin, glass-reinforced plastics, polyphenylene sulfide, polyetheretherketone, polyethersulfone, etc.)

This product is free from heavy metals.

• One-coat bonding system for PU's and TPU's to all metals during curing
• Bonds polyurethane elastomers to polyamides and engineering thermoplastics (Hytrel®, polyester, PES, PPS, PPO) at 80ºC or above
• Excellent environmental resistance to hot and cold water and fluids

Resins and catalysts stabilized in organic solvents.

1. Remove all oil, grease and dirt from metal surface
2. Blast surface with steel grit to achieve roughness >15 µm (use aluminum oxide for aluminum surfaces)
3. Clean substrate again to remove blasting residue
4. Optional treatments: phosphatizing, galvanizing, chromate conversion, or KTL

Agitation: Stir Thinkbond 940T before application to prevent settling.

Brushing: Apply undiluted for small areas. For large areas, dilute with MEK for improved flow.

Spraying: Use HVLP gun with 1.5 Bar pressure and 1-1.5mm nozzle. Dilute 50-100% v/v.

Roller coating: Dilute to 35-45 seconds on DIN 4 or Ford 4 cup at 25°C. High boiling solvents like MPA may be needed.

Drying: 10-30 minutes at room temperature. Forced air at ≤100°C for 5 minutes can reduce drying time.

Application thickness: 15-25 µm (use ≥25 µm for severe environments). Parts can be stored for 30 days before curing.
